Wat te doen
This code does not mean the hybrid battery is failing. It means the module that manages the battery failed its own check. Before accepting any battery-related quote, ask two things: what codes are stored inside the battery control module itself, and has this module's supply and earth been verified.
Wat deze code betekent
The module managing the traction battery has failed its self-check.
The battery energy control module watches every cell group's voltage and temperature, balances the pack, runs its cooling, and decides how hard the battery may be charged and discharged. It is the part of the car that knows whether the most expensive component aboard is healthy — so when it reports trouble, the system becomes conservative about the battery on principle.
Note what this code is not. It is not a battery deterioration code, and it does not say the pack is failing — it says the pack's guardian failed a self-check. The distinction is worth money: a module supply fault, an earth fault or stale software each produce this code on a perfectly healthy pack. P0A7B is the neighbouring trap — the battery module asking for the warning lamp on behalf of a code stored inside itself — and the same advice covers both: read what the battery module actually recorded before anyone talks about the battery.
