Volvo's six-speed manual for the CMA platform — in the XC40 and C40.
It is the M66's replacement and the last manual Volvo sold, which is the practical point: on a CMA car a manual is unusual enough that a general-purpose parts listing will often assume the automatic.
Its faults are the faults of every modern transverse manual, in the usual order: the clutch first, then the shift cables and their bushings — which produce a vague or long change that reads as a worn gearbox and is not — and only then a synchro.
The clutch's slave cylinder is concentric, inside the bellhousing, so a leaking seal is a cheap part behind an expensive job. Replace it whenever the gearbox is out, regardless of its condition.
It is not the M66. The earlier six-speed is in the P1, P2 and P3 cars and shares no parts; the platform, not the ratio count, is what separates them.
