Lexus LX
The flagship off-roader, and mechanically a Toyota Land Cruiser in every generation — the same ladder frame, the same full-time four-wheel drive with a locking centre differential, the same axles. Land Cruiser information covers nearly all of it and there is far more of it. What is Lexus-specific is the air suspension and the hydraulic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, and both are where its chassis codes come from rather than the driveline.

The LX 450 — a J80 Land Cruiser with a different grille and softer springs, solid axles at both ends and the 1FZ-FE straight-six. Two model years only, and the shortest generation the nameplate has had.

J100 1998–2007
The LX 470 — the 2UZ-FE V8, and the generation where the height-adjustable air suspension and the hydraulic anti-roll system arrive. Sold in Japan as the Toyota Land Cruiser Cygnus. The four-speed gives way to the A750F five-speed in 2003.
