Steering wheel is not straight when driving straight
The car tracks true but the wheel sits off-centre in your hands. Usually cosmetic in feel and not in consequence: the same sensor that tells the car which way the wheel is pointing feeds stability control, lane keeping and parking assistance, and several of those systems calibrate their idea of straight-ahead from it. So a wheel left crooked after alignment or steering work can quietly leave those systems working from a false reference, which is why the calibration step exists and why skipping it produces faults that look unrelated.

What this usually means
The wheel is off-centre while the car tracks straight, which is a different complaint from a car that pulls — and separating them is the first step, because the repairs differ.
The usual cause is alignment, specifically the front toe having been set with the steering wheel off-centre. A wheel alignment that adjusts only one track rod moves the wheel's centre position, so a car aligned without locking the steering wheel straight comes back tracking perfectly with the wheel at an angle. That is a re-alignment rather than a fault, and it is the commonest single cause.
So the most useful question is whether it followed work. Alignment, a track rod end, a rack, a subframe, or suspension work on one side all move the relationship between the wheel and the wheels.
Where it appeared without any work, something has moved. A kerb impact or a pothole can shift toe on one side; a worn track rod end or ball joint lets the geometry wander; and a bent steering arm or strut from an impact does it permanently. Those need measuring rather than adjusting.
On a car with electric steering there is a second consequence worth knowing. The steering angle sensor's zero is set to the straight-ahead position, so an off-centre wheel means the stability system's idea of straight is wrong too — which is why this complaint sometimes arrives with a stability lamp, and why the calibration must be run after the alignment rather than before.
Rear alignment is the cause people miss. If the rear axle's thrust angle is off, the car tracks straight only with the front wheels turned slightly — so the front is compensating for the rear, and adjusting the front alone puts the wheel straight and makes the car crab.
