JAC S5
The mid-size crossover, assembled locally in Iran and Brazil among other markets and the model most people mean by the badge. The engine decides the diagnosis: the naturally aspirated 2.0 is a Mitsubishi 4G-family design built under licence, so Mitsubishi documentation describes it — valve clearances, timing balance shafts and sensor locations all transfer. The 1.5 turbo that replaced it is JAC's own and that cross-reference stops working, which is exactly the kind of split that sends a diagnosis to the wrong manual if the engine is not identified first. The recurring items are ignition coils, the electronic throttle body, and on turbo cars the wastegate actuator.
