The boxy seven-seat compact SUV on the MFA2 front-drive platform it shares with the A-Class, CLA and GLA — so despite the upright SUV shape, its diagnosis is compact-car diagnosis and A-Class information applies. The petrol engines are the M282 and M260; the M282 is a Renault-derived 1.3 whose timing chain and its tensioner have a known wear history, which is worth knowing because it is not the engine most people expect to find in a Mercedes. The 2.0 diesel is the OM654, a much more modern unit than the OM651 it replaced, with its own AdBlue dosing system and the NOx-sensor faults that come with it. The EQB is the battery-electric version and needs high-voltage-specific data.
