MG
United Kingdom
The British sports-car badge, owned by SAIC since 2007 and now a volume brand across Europe, Australia and India. A modern MG is a Chinese-engineered car with a British name — nothing mechanical carries over from the Rover era, so pre-2005 MG information applies to nothing sold today. Several models are offered as petrol, hybrid and battery electric under one nameplate, which decides how much of the generic corpus reaches a given car.

What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
