Rivian R1T
The electric pickup, and the vehicle that introduced Rivian's zonal electrical architecture — a handful of large zone controllers in place of the dozens of small modules a conventional truck carries. That changes diagnosis more than any single component does: there are far fewer addressable units, most faults resolve to software or network topology rather than a discrete part, and a great many are fixed over the air rather than at a bench. The quad-motor cars have an independent motor at each wheel, so a driveline symptom can be isolated to one corner in a way no differential-based vehicle allows. Pack chemistry differs by trim — the Standard pack is lithium iron phosphate and wants charging to 100% regularly, which is the opposite of the habit the nickel packs above it require.
