Tata Aria
Tata's first monocoque crossover with four-wheel drive, sold in small numbers and worth knowing about mainly because it is the Hexa's mechanical ancestor — the two share a platform, a wheelbase and an engine family, so a Hexa write-up usually applies here and there is far more of it.
Two states of the same engine were sold under two different names. Early cars carry the 2.2 DICOR; later ones the 2.2 VariCOR, which is the same engine re-badged after a power increase. Neither name is the engine's real designation: both are a Peugeot DW12 built under licence in India, and that is the lineage to search when documentation is wanted.
Being a low-volume model, specialist knowledge is thin and parts move slowly, which changes what is worth attempting: the shared Hexa and Safari hardware is the practical route to both information and components.
