⚑ It is one engine wearing two companies' codes, which is the useful thing here: a Saab owner searching D223 and an Opel owner searching Y22DTH are looking for the same parts and the same faults, and neither search finds the other's results.

It is a common-rail engine of the first generation and its recurring items are that generation's: injector seals that leak combustion gases and carbon the seat, making removal a job in itself; the EGR valve, which carbons shut; and the swirl flaps in the inlet manifold, whose linkage wears and whose failure sets a code that reads as a boost fault.

The turbocharger's oil feed pipe carbons up and starves the bearing — the commonest root cause of a turbocharger that has failed on one of these, and replacing the turbo without the pipe repeats it.
