Citroën C2

The three-door small car that replaced the Saxo, sharing its platform with the C3 and the Peugeot 1007 — so C3 information covers most of the powertrain. What sets the C2 apart diagnostically is the SensoDrive automated manual fitted to a large share of them: a conventional manual gearbox with an electrohydraulic actuator operating the clutch and selecting gears, with its own pump, accumulator, position sensors and control unit. It fails in ways no torque-converter automatic does — a clutch that will not find its bite point sets a position-learning code, and the fix is often a recalibration rather than a part. Beyond that the 1.4 and 1.6 TU engines and the 1.4 HDi are conventional, and the BSI body computer is sensitive to a weak battery.
