P0833: Clutch Pedal Switch B Circuit
What to do
The functions that depend on the clutch signal will be withdrawn even though one switch still works — that is deliberate, not a fault in itself. Both switches are usually replaced together, and both are inexpensive.
What this code means
A fault in the second clutch pedal switch — the redundant half of the pair described under P0830, wired to operate in the opposite sense so the two can be checked against each other.
When this one fails, the module still has switch A and could in principle carry on using it. Most do not, and the reason is sound: the entire purpose of the second switch is to make a stuck first switch detectable, so operating on a single switch would mean accepting exactly the silent failure the pair was fitted to prevent. Withdrawing stop-start and cruise control until both are healthy is the conservative choice rather than an overreaction.

Information, not instruction
CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.
Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.
What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
