What to do
If a solenoid is replaced and the gearbox still shifts badly afterwards, ask whether the adaptive values were reset and the relearn drive completed. On these transmissions that step is part of the job, and shifts can stay poor without it even when the repair was correct.
What this code means
The control circuit for shift solenoid E is responding outside its expected window. The point from P0770 belongs here more than anywhere: on transmissions of this complexity, replacing a solenoid is not the end of the repair. The module's learned shift adaptations are matched to the old part, and applying them to a new one produces harsh or flaring changes that then get blamed on the replacement. The reset takes minutes and a short relearn drive.
