What this code means
The control circuit for shift solenoid F is responding outside its expected window. A sixth shift solenoid implies a transmission with a great many ratios, where the loss of any one solenoid removes a correspondingly smaller and more specific set of gears — so the symptom is usually a gearbox that skips a ratio and shifts around the gap rather than one that plainly stops working.
That mildness is worth flagging. On these transmissions the first sign of a solenoid fault is often a change that merely feels wrong, and it is easy to dismiss until it develops into something less ambiguous.
