What this code means
The drive motor is not delivering what was commanded — the module's broad verdict on the machine itself, stored when the gap between asked-for and delivered torque persists without a more specific family claiming it.
Read this code the way the corpus reads P0700: it names the victim, not necessarily the culprit. The motor is the last link in a chain — battery, contactors, inverter, phase cables, then windings — and every upstream weakness presents as the motor underperforming. A deteriorating battery that cannot deliver current makes a perfect motor "underperform"; a hot inverter derating quietly does the same; so does degraded transaxle fluid dragging on the machine. The motor's own genuine failure, insulation breakdown, announces itself with the phase-current family more often than with this code alone.
