P0CED: Hybrid/EV Electronics Coolant Pump A Enable Circuit

What to do

A pump that ignores commands may simply never have been enabled — this is a separate permission line, and it is worth checking before the pump is replaced.

What this code means

The enable circuit for electronics coolant pump A is faulty.

An enable line is a second, independent permission: separate from the signal that tells the pump how fast to run, it decides whether the pump may run at all. The point of separating them is that a single failed output cannot start a pump that should be off, or stop one that should be on — two things have to agree.

So a fault here can produce a pump that ignores every speed command because it was never enabled, or one that cannot be switched off. Both look like a failed pump and neither is, which is the reason to check this circuit before the component.

Information, not instruction

CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.

Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.

What makes one worth reading:

  • The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
  • What you measured, not only what you replaced.
  • What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
