P0D15: Battery Charging System A High Voltage Interlock Circuit/Open
What to do
If the car drives normally and will not charge, that asymmetry is informative — this interlock covers the charging hardware rather than the traction system, so the search belongs there. If anything has recently been opened near the charger or the inlet, say so: a cover seated but not latched is the commonest cause and it is free to correct. The loop is never bypassed to get the car charging.
What this code means
The high-voltage interlock loop belonging to the charging system is open or faulty.
The interlock argument is already written — at P0A0A for the vehicle's main loop and P0B33 for the service disconnect — and it applies here unchanged: a thin wire threaded through every high-voltage cover, in series, whose whole purpose is to be broken before anything live can be touched.
What is specific to this one is where it runs. It covers the charging hardware — the on-board charger's enclosure, the charging contactor housing, the inlet's high-voltage side — rather than the traction system. So the consequence is narrower than a main interlock fault: the car will refuse to charge, and may drive perfectly well. That asymmetry is the useful part, because it points the search at the charging hardware rather than at the pack.
And the rule carries over without exception: this loop is never bridged. Bypassing it removes the guarantee that the charging hardware can be de-energised before somebody opens it.
