What to do
Expect reduced power and restricted charging. If a battery replacement has been proposed on the strength of section voltages, this code is a reason to pause — it says the readings do not reconcile with each other, which points at the measuring module rather than at the battery.
What this code means
The traction battery's voltage sensors, taken together, are reporting a pattern that cannot be right.
These two codes sit above every individual sensor code in the battery, and what they add is not another measurement — it is a judgement about the set.
A single sensor code says one instrument is unreachable or implausible. A pairwise correlation code, of the kind at P0C87, says two neighbours disagree. A multiple sensor correlation says the population as a whole is inconsistent — no individual reading is impossible, no pair is clearly wrong, and the pattern across all of them cannot be produced by a real battery.
That is a genuinely different claim, and it is what catches the failures the other checks are blind to. A shared reference voltage drifting moves every sensor a little; a module's analogue-to-digital converter losing calibration does the same; a software update with wrong scaling does it perfectly consistently. In each case every sensor agrees with every other sensor and they are all wrong together — which pairwise comparison cannot see, because pairwise comparison is looking for disagreement.
So the useful inference is inverted from most codes: this one points at what the sensors have in common, not at any sensor. The module, its reference supply, its calibration, its software. Replacing sensors on this code is the mistake it exists to prevent.
On voltage the arithmetic is the test. The individual measurements have to add up: the sum of the sections must equal the pack, and the pack must equal what the inverter sees (P0DA8). A set of readings that is internally consistent and does not reconcile with the total is measuring with a wrong scale rather than measuring a wrong battery.
Which is why this code should be read before, not after, the expensive one. A pack condemned on section voltages that were all scaled wrongly is the most costly mistake this family can produce.
