P2114: Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor C Minimum Stop Performance
What to do
If this concerns a pedal sensor rather than the throttle, cleaning the throttle body will not help — the wear is in the pedal assembly. Ask which sensor the code refers to on your vehicle before work is booked.
What this code means
The learned closed position for sensor C is out of range. Sensor C and beyond generally belong to the accelerator pedal rather than the throttle, on installations carrying three pedal signals for redundancy — see P2109 for the mechanism and the fix.
A pedal sensor's minimum stop drifts for a different reason than a throttle's: not carbon, but wear in the pedal assembly and its return spring over hundreds of thousands of applications. That makes cleaning irrelevant here and the pedal assembly the more likely answer, which is worth knowing before a throttle body is cleaned in hope.
