P2317: Ignition Coil F Secondary Circuit
Do not keep driving
Stop if the engine light is flashing. Ask when the plugs were last changed — on a larger engine, one cylinder failing this test with old plugs usually means the whole set is finished, and replacing plugs is far cheaper than replacing coils.
What this code means
A fault on the high-voltage output side of coil F, closing the first half of this family. The spark plug argument at P2302 remains the first thing to establish, and on a six-cylinder or larger engine it carries extra weight: plugs are replaced as a set, so a secondary fault on one cylinder of an engine with high-mileage plugs is very often the whole set reaching the end of its life rather than one coil failing.
