Nothing is at risk. If any bodywork or fuel filler work has been done recently, ask for the switch connector to be checked first.
What this code means
The fuel cap switch circuit reads above its valid range — an open circuit, a disconnected switch, or a short to supply. An open circuit is what a disconnected switch looks like, and this one is disturbed whenever the filler neck or the rear wing area is worked on.
