Open circuit in sensor wiring

A break somewhere between sensor and module — a snapped conductor, a terminal backed out of its housing, or a connector that has separated. The module sees no signal at all, which reads identically to a dead sensor, so the wiring is the cheaper half of the diagnosis and belongs first. A resistance check end to end settles it in minutes.

Typically specialist work. Needs equipment or training most home workshops do not have.
