P2464: Particulate Filter Differential Pressure Too Low — Bank 2
What to do
Counter-intuitively, a freer-breathing exhaust here is bad news: it usually means a cracked substrate or sensing fault — or, on a used purchase, a filter someone removed. The hoses are the cheap check; the can's contents are the honest one.
What this code means
The pressure drop across bank 2's particulate filter is too low — and a restriction too small to be real is its own accusation, because an intact filter always resists flow somewhat.
Three things produce an impossibly free-flowing filter: a cracked or melted substrate (often the aftermath of an uncontrolled burn on an overloaded filter — P2463's ending), sensing plumbing faults reading low (the P2452 hoses again), and a filter that has been hollowed out — gutted and refitted, a known evasion this measurement exists to catch. The module cannot tell these apart; it can only report that the restriction it is legally required to confirm is not there. On a vehicle recently bought used, this code deserves a look inside the can before anything else is blamed.

Information, not instruction
CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.
Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.
What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
