P2642: Torque Management Feedback Signal B Range/Performance
What to do
The engine will feel normal, with the gearchanges carrying the symptom. As at P2638: if the shifts have started to feel soft or slurred, as though the gearbox slips briefly during the change, do not leave it — repeated slipping wears clutches, and the cause is a signal rather than the gearbox.
What this code means
The second torque feedback signal is electrically valid and does not agree with the conditions, or does not agree with the A signal.
Where the two lines carry the same answer as a check on each other, a disagreement is the check doing its job — and the module cannot tell which of the two to believe, so it believes neither. The consequences are at P2638, including the clutch-pressure argument that makes this variant worth attending to rather than filing.
