Ford Fusion
The mid-size saloon sold in enormous numbers in North America, and the two generations are related to Europe's Mondeo in quite different degrees, which is the thing to establish first. The 2006-2012 car is its own design shared with the Mercury Milan and Lincoln MKZ; the 2013-2020 car is the Mondeo Mk5 under another name, so European material applies to the later one and not to the earlier. Do not confuse either with the European Ford Fusion, which is a small tall hatchback on Fiesta underpinnings and an unrelated vehicle. Hybrid and Energi plug-in versions use Ford's own power-split system rather than anything bought in.
