The navigation screen is not showing what it should, and the car drives entirely normally.
One distinction is worth knowing before you pay for anything: the screen and the navigation computer are often two separate units. This code points at the screen. If the sound, the radio and the reversing camera all still work through the same display, that narrows it usefully.
The most useful thing you can tell a garage is whether anything has been changed. A screen or head unit fitted second-hand from another car — very common, and often from a higher-specification model — will frequently fit perfectly and expect a different kind of data. That is a coding job rather than a fault, and diagnosing it as a failure wastes money.

The distinction between this code and U0464 is worth getting right, because they are frequently confused and the repairs are entirely different. This is the screen. U0464 is the computer behind it. On many vehicles they are separate units connected by a video link and a data connection, and on many others they are one box — which is why a fault reported as "the navigation is broken" needs establishing before parts are ordered.
A display module's own contribution is small: it renders what it is sent, reports touches back, and manages its own brightness and its connection. So an invalid report from here is usually about the link rather than the map — a display that has lost synchronisation with its source, a screen fitted from another vehicle, or a software version that no longer matches what the navigation computer sends.
Which makes retrofits and second-hand parts the first thing to ask about. The infotainment screen is one of the most commonly swapped modules on a used vehicle, and a screen from a higher or lower specification model frequently fits mechanically while expecting a different data format.
