Vehicle
Nissan GT-R
The R35 is unusual enough that generic assumptions rarely hold. Its VR38DETT is a twin-turbo V6 and its transmission is a rear-mounted six-speed dual-clutch transaxle with its own control unit, its own fluid specification and its own extensive code set — most GT-R faults that reach a workshop are transaxle or clutch-pressure codes rather than engine ones. The four-wheel-drive system is an electronically controlled clutch pack feeding the front axle, so a driveline complaint may be a torque-split fault with no mechanical wear at all. Fluid condition and level are genuine diagnostic inputs on this car, not maintenance items, and reading the transmission's own adaptation data is usually the first useful step.

Service information
Information, not instruction
CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.
Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
