Manufacturer
Scion
United States · part of Toyota Motor Corporation
Toyota's North American youth brand from 2003 to 2016. Every Scion is a Toyota, a Subaru or a Mazda under the badge — usually a Japanese-market model sold unchanged — so the parent model's information applies without qualification, and finding which parent it is the first step in any diagnosis. The cars are numerous, out of warranty and unsupported by a brand, which is exactly the population that reads its own codes.

What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
