Toyota Tacoma

The mid-size pickup, and the best-selling one in North America for two decades — so it is the Toyota most likely to arrive with high mileage and a working history. The second generation's frame corrosion is the fault that defines it: a recall-level rust problem that is a structural question rather than a code, and worth establishing before anything electrical. The 3.5 2GR-FKS in the third generation uses Toyota's D-4S dual injection, so it has both port and direct injectors and a fuel-trim fault can sit in either system.
