Cause
Faulty transmission control module power relay
The relay feeding the transmission module, including for a moment after the ignition is switched off so adaptations can be written. A relay releasing early means those are never saved, so the gearbox starts each morning on default values and feels like it is wearing out when it is not.
Typically an easy fix. Often worth checking before paying anyone to look.
