P0884: Transmission Control Module Power Input Signal Intermittent
What to do
If the transmission occasionally goes wrong for a moment and then recovers completely, mention whether it happens over bumps or on rough surfaces — that points at an intermittent electrical connection rather than at the gearbox, and it is far cheaper.
What this code means
The module's supply is interrupted briefly and returns. Each interruption is effectively a momentary reset of a module controlling a gearbox at speed, which produces exactly the alarming symptom it sounds like: a sudden harsh shift or a drop into limp mode, followed by everything behaving normally again.
Intermittent supply faults are provoked by vibration and by heat rather than by anything the driver does, which is what makes them so hard to catch in a workshop. A recording of supply voltage taken while the vehicle is driven over the road that provokes it is worth more than any amount of static testing.

Information, not instruction
CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.
Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.
What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
