What this code means
The bank 1 exhaust camshaft is more advanced than commanded. Exhaust phasing has a strong influence on internal exhaust gas recirculation, so a phaser stuck away from its commanded position often shows up as rough idle and, on some engines, as EGR-related codes that are really a symptom rather than the cause.
