Camshaft Position Actuator
The hydraulic unit on the end of the camshaft that rotates it relative to the crankshaft, advancing or retarding valve timing on demand. Contains a locking mechanism that holds position at rest; a worn lock announces itself as a brief rattle in the first second after a cold start.
