What this code means
The ambient temperature signal is jumping around rather than sitting steadily wrong. Intermittent codes are wiring codes far more often than component codes — a connector that loses contact over bumps, or a wire broken inside its insulation where nothing shows on inspection. Wiggle-testing the harness while watching live data finds these faster than any static measurement.
