What to do
The car will drive normally. You may notice the outside temperature display reading obviously wrong, or the air conditioning behaving oddly. Not urgent, but worth fixing at the next service.
What this code means
A circuit fault in the sensor that reports outside air temperature. It is easy to dismiss this as a dashboard convenience, but the reading feeds real decisions: air density correction for fuelling, when the air conditioning compressor is allowed to engage, and on many vehicles the ice warning. The sensor usually lives behind the front bumper or in the door mirror, where stone strikes and road salt reach it easily.
