P0093: Fuel System Leak Detected — Large Leak
Do not keep driving
Stop the engine and do not restart it. Have the vehicle recovered rather than driven. If you can smell fuel, keep people away from the vehicle until it has been inspected.
What this code means
The module has concluded that fuel is escaping the high-pressure system faster than the pump can compensate — typically by watching rail pressure collapse under conditions where it should hold. On a common-rail diesel the pressures involved are extreme, and a leak at that pressure atomises fuel into a fine mist. This is a fire risk, not merely a running problem, and it deserves to be treated as one.
