Fuel Injector
An electrically operated valve that sprays metered fuel into the intake port or directly into the cylinder. Injectors fail in three distinct ways that produce different codes: electrically (open or shorted winding), by flow restriction from deposits, and by leaking when they should be closed. The third is the hardest to diagnose because the injector tests fine electrically.
