P0498: Evaporative Emission System Vent Valve Control Circuit Low
What to do
Driveable with no symptom. Will fail an emissions test.
What this code means
The vent valve control circuit is reading low — shorted to ground, or a driver holding it down. Given the valve's position underneath the vehicle, water in the connector produces this at least as often as a genuine winding fault, and drying and inspecting the connector before replacing anything is worth the few minutes it takes.
