P0615: Starter Relay A Circuit
What to do
May be intermittent or may leave the car refusing to crank. The relay is cheap and a common cause, so ask for it to be tested before a starter motor is quoted for.
What this code means
A fault in the starter relay circuit as driven by the control module. The module energises this relay only after the gear selector, clutch or brake, and immobiliser have all been satisfied, so the relay is the last link in a permission chain rather than the first thing the key touches.
A cheap relay is a far more common failure than a starter motor, and it is worth testing first on any no-crank complaint. Swapping it with an identical relay elsewhere in the box is a free test that many vehicles allow.
