P0908: Gate Select Position Circuit A Intermittent
What to do
A gear change that occasionally fails and then works on a second attempt is characteristic. Worth catching early — intermittent faults on this mechanism become permanent ones, and a shift that fails completely can leave the gearbox between gears.
What this code means
The gate select position signal drops out or jumps briefly. Because the module is closing a position loop around this signal while the mechanism is actually moving, a momentary loss mid-movement leaves the actuator without feedback at the worst possible time — which is why the symptom is often a shift that fails partway and then completes normally on a second attempt.
The gearbox harness is the usual cause: it lives on a component that moves on its mounts, at engine temperature, and its connectors take vibration continuously.

Information, not instruction
CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.
Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.
What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
