P0930: Gear Shift Lock Solenoid/Actuator Control Circuit A Low
What to do
The car works normally, and that is the point: the interlock that stops the selector leaving park without the brake pressed may no longer be working. Use the parking brake whenever you leave the vehicle, and be mindful if children are ever alone in the car.
What this code means
The shift lock solenoid circuit reads below its valid range, normally a short to ground, which generally leaves the solenoid energised and the lock released continuously.
That is the unsafe direction rather than the inconvenient one: with the interlock permanently released, the selector can be moved out of park without the brake pedal being pressed. The car will drive perfectly and the safeguard is simply gone — which is worth knowing about on any vehicle where children might reach the lever.
