P0B19: Hybrid/EV Battery Pack Voltage Sense C Circuit

What to do

As P0B14. If more than one sense circuit is flagged, mention it — adjacent circuits failing together usually means one shared connector rather than two separate faults, which is a smaller job than it sounds.

What this code means

The pack's third voltage sense circuit is faulty.

The letter identifies which tap on the series string is being measured, and nothing else about the diagnosis changes: the sense-line-or-cell argument, the reason several taps exist, and why these thin wires are the ones that fail are all at P0B14.

One thing the letter does buy, and it is worth asking for. Which physical section of the pack each letter corresponds to is recorded in the manufacturer's data, so a sense code names a place. A workshop that knows the module ordering can go to the right end of the pack instead of opening all of it — and if two adjacent letters are flagged together, the fault is very likely at the boundary they share rather than in either section.

Information, not instruction

CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.

Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.

What makes one worth reading:

  • The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
  • What you measured, not only what you replaced.
  • What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
