P0EA7: Auxiliary Cooling System Performance
What to do
Expect reduced power on long climbs or when towing, and rapid charging that slows earlier than it used to. If the car has had any coolant work recently, say so — trapped air is the commonest cause and the cheapest to fix. It is drivable, but the parts it protects are expensive.
What this code means
The auxiliary cooling system is not achieving the cooling it should.
This is the outcome code for the low-temperature loop, and it sits above every individual component code in that circuit. The pumps, the valves, the temperature sensors at P0E81 all report on themselves. This one reports on the result — the electronics and the battery are hotter than the model says they should be for the work being done.
So its diagnostic value is in what it means when it stands alone. With a pump or valve code beside it, this is the consequence and that is the cause. With nothing beside it, every component is reporting healthy and the circuit still is not cooling — which points at the things no component can see: a blockage, air trapped at a high point, a radiator packed with debris or road film, or coolant that has degraded and no longer carries heat the way it did.
Air is the one to suspect first after any coolant work. An electric car's thermal system has several loops and several high points, and bleeding it properly is a procedure rather than a matter of topping up — a circuit that was never fully bled will cool adequately in mild weather and fail exactly when it is needed.
The symptom is power that fades under sustained load and rapid charging that tapers early, neither of which reads as a cooling fault to a driver.
