P2285: Injector Control Pressure Sensor Circuit Low
What to do
Expect rough running, poor power and possibly hard starting. Ask for the connector to be opened and checked for oil — that is the usual cause of a low reading on this sensor, and the harness will need attention as well or a new sensor is contaminated in turn.
What this code means
The injection control pressure sensor circuit reads below its valid range — a short to ground, or a sensor that has failed to a very low output.
Oil in the connector is the leading cause here specifically, because oil bridging the terminals pulls the signal towards ground rather than opening the circuit. That gives a reading the module interprets as no pressure at all, which on a running engine is implausible and is why it is caught as a circuit fault rather than a pressure fault.
The practical effect is that the module has no usable feedback and falls back to a default, so the engine may run poorly rather than not at all.
