P2565: Turbocharger Boost Control Position Sensor A Circuit High
What to do
The engine will feel flat, possibly with a reduced power warning. If any work has recently been done around the turbocharger, exhaust gas recirculation valve or manifold, say so straight away — this connector is regularly unplugged to reach those parts and is easy to leave off in a space that cannot be seen without a mirror. Checking that costs nothing and is the commonest answer in that situation.
What this code means
The vane position circuit reads above its valid range — an open circuit, a disconnected connector, or a short to supply.
The outcome is the same as at P2564: no trustworthy feedback, so no closed-loop boost control, so a default vane position and a flat engine.
One cause is worth eliminating before any part is bought, because it is free. This connector is routinely unplugged to get at other things — the turbocharger itself, the exhaust gas recirculation valve, the manifold — and it is easy to leave unclipped in a tight, hot space that cannot be seen without a mirror. A vane position code appearing immediately after other work in that area is a disconnected plug until proven otherwise.
