P2648: A Rocker Arm Actuator Control Circuit Low Bank 1
What to do
You may notice nothing, or a flat feeling at higher revs. Ask for the solenoid winding to be measured as well as the wiring — that is a two-minute check and it separates a harness fault from a failed solenoid. Check the oil level and service history too, as at P2645.
What this code means
The A rocker arm actuator control circuit on bank 1 reads below its valid range — a short to ground, or a solenoid winding that has failed short.
A shorted solenoid is worth measuring for rather than assuming wiring: these windings are cheap to test and the result decides between a harness repair and a part. The system and the oil-first reasoning are at P2645.
