What to do
Do not work around this, do not have it cleared, and do not attempt anything yourself. The high-voltage system runs at several hundred volts, and this particular fault is not one to drive through.
Expect the car to refuse to charge, refuse to deliver power, or both.
That is protection, and it is worth understanding why it is stricter than most faults. The software in a battery management computer is not just how the battery is used — it is the definition of what the battery can safely survive: the voltage each cell may reach, the temperature range in which charging is allowed, how much current the pack may take.
