U0312: Software-incompatibiliteit met de regelmodule A accu-energie

Wat te doen

Do not work around this, do not have it cleared, and do not attempt anything yourself. The high-voltage system runs at several hundred volts, and this particular fault is not one to drive through.

Expect the car to refuse to charge, refuse to deliver power, or both.

That is protection, and it is worth understanding why it is stricter than most faults. The software in a battery management computer is not just how the battery is used — it is the definition of what the battery can safely survive: the voltage each cell may reach, the temperature range in which charging is allowed, how much current the pack may take. All of it is written for the exact cells in your car.

When two computers disagree about that, the car can no longer be certain what is safe — and a lithium battery charged outside its limits does not fail politely. Refusing to work is the correct answer.

One thing to insist on absolutely: no second-hand battery management module. Battery packs are revised through a car's production life — different cells, different chemistry, different capacity, often under the same part number — so a used module carries limits written for cells that are not in your car. A matching part number is not enough here, and this is the one place where that shortcut is a safety matter rather than a money one.

This needs the manufacturer's own current software for your car's pack, and a workshop equipped for high-voltage work.

Wat deze code betekent

A module is running software that does not belong with the battery energy control module's. See U0300 for the family, and note that this concerns a high-voltage system — several hundred volts of direct current, and nothing on it for a general workshop to open.

This is the most consequential member of the software incompatibility family, and the reason is what a battery management module's software actually contains.

It is not a control strategy. It is the definition of what the battery can survive. Cell chemistry limits, the voltage window each cell may occupy, the temperature range in which charging is permitted, the current the pack may accept at a given state of charge and temperature, the derating curves near the extremes, the balancing behaviour — all of it lives in software, and all of it is specific to the exact cells fitted.

So two modules disagreeing here is not a feature being unavailable. It is a system whose safe operating limits cannot be established with certainty — and the correct answer to that is to stop, which is what the vehicle does.

A lithium cell charged outside its window does not fail politely. That is why this code should never be worked around, cleared and driven on, or treated as an inconvenience, and why the vehicle refusing to charge or to deliver power is protection rather than obstruction.

Which makes second-hand battery modules the specific thing to warn against. Packs are revised through a model's life — different cells, different chemistry, different capacity, all under the same part number — and a battery management module from a donor vehicle carries limits written for cells that are not in this pack. A matching part number is emphatically not enough here, and it is the one place in the corpus where that shortcut has physical rather than financial consequences.

The remedy is the manufacturer's current calibration for this vehicle's pack, and nothing else.
