U0565: Invalid Data Received From Camera Module - Rear
What to do
The car drives normally. The reversing camera may show nothing, or — more dangerously — may show a frozen picture that looks real.
If the image does not change as the car moves, do not use it. A stuck frame showing clear space behind you is the failure mode that causes accidents. Turn round and look, and use your mirrors, until it is fixed.
Look at the camera lens itself. If it is misted, beaded with water inside, or fogs in cold weather, the seal has failed — that is the usual cause and it will get worse. Say so, because it points straight at the part.
If the rear wiper, number plate lights or tailgate release have also played up, mention that too: they share one flexing loom at the top of the tailgate, and a break there explains all of them together.

A reversing camera is a safety device in most markets rather than a convenience, and its failure has a particular shape worth knowing.
The camera reports its own health along with its image, and the receiving module rejects a stream it cannot verify. The visible result is usually a black screen, a frozen last frame, or a picture without the guide lines — and the frozen frame is the dangerous one, because it looks like a working camera showing an empty space.
Water is the dominant physical cause and the failure is characteristic. These cameras live in the tailgate, the boot handle or the number plate surround, in the direct spray of the rear wheels and behind a seal that ages. A misted or droplet-covered image is the first stage; an intermittent fault as water reaches the connector is the second; a dead camera is the third. A camera that fogs in cold weather has begun this sequence.
The tailgate loom is the other cause, as at U0531 — the camera's wiring crosses the flexing concertina at the top of the tailgate along with everything else back there, so a camera failing alongside the wiper, the number plate lights or the release is one broken loom rather than four faults.
Do not reverse on a frozen image. If the picture never changes as the car moves, it is not a camera view — turn round and look.
