Chevrolet Avalanche
The pickup built on the Suburban rather than the Silverado, and its defining feature is the midgate — a folding bulkhead between cab and bed that lets the load space extend forward once the rear seats are down. That is a body assembly with its own latches, seals and, on later cars, its own wiring, and it accounts for a large share of what these come in for: leaks into the cabin and a bed that will not close. Everything mechanical is Suburban and Silverado material of the same years, including the cylinder deactivation on the later 5.3, which is the usual explanation for oil consumption and lifter noise. The Cadillac Escalade EXT is the same vehicle.
